1970'S
Those who lived through the 70s remember it largely as a wonderful celebration of peace following a decade of chaos and turmoil. It was, for many, the era of funky clothes and happy sitcoms. I am going to blog about 8 funny fads that were popular in the 1970's.
1. Disco
In the 1970s, disco arrived armed with keyboards, drum machines, sugary lyrics, and extended dance breaks.
2. Afros
The Black Power movement of the late '60s and early '70s claimed the mantra "Black is Beautiful," and the Afro was one way to show solidarity among black people.
3. Roller Skates
Back in the 18th century, people were hip to the idea of attaching wheels to their feet to get around faster.
4. Pet Rock
California entrepreneur Gary Dahl was joking around with friends one night in 1975 about the perfect pet.
5. Leisure Suits
If you were a with-it kind of guy in the '70s, you had at least one leisure suit.
6. Mood Rings
Who knew a thermochromic liquid crystal could foretell the mood of humans?
7. CB Radio
Before chat rooms, there were CB radios. Citizens' Band radios were (and still are) largely used by truckers on the road to communicate with other drivers in their range.
8. Punk Rock
Not everyone in the '70s was feeling the love.

1960'S
The 1960's was a decade that was ruled by the young. Hey, the post World War II Baby Boom had created 70 million teenagers they dictated the fashion, the fads and the politics of the decade.
In California surfers took to skateboards, because even back then they were body and health conscious in California. Skateboards like surfing was away to stay fit, when not surfing. By 1963, the fad had spread across the country.
Barbie dolls, were introduced by Mattel in 1959. Hasbro also came up with G. I. Joe, 12 inches tall and the first action figure for boys.
Slot cars overtook toy trains in popularity. As for the music of the 1960's here is a list of the top ten songs!
